AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program
AKC’s Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) Program was started in 1989, and currently having a tremendous positive impact in the American communities. The CGC Program of American Kennel Club has been formulated to reward dogs for exhibiting good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program of AKC is a two-fold program to spread the awareness of responsible pet ownership.
This program is composed of 10-steps test. Owners of all dogs in America should opt for the Canine Good Citizen training session as the first and prime step in training their canine companions. The Canine Good Citizen Program formulated by American Kennel Club is quite scientific and chiefly stress on a few other most vital AKC activities for instance obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. - Step 5: Walking through a crowd
- Step 6: Sit and down on command and Staying in place
- Step 7: Coming when called
- Step 8: Reaction to another dog
- Step 9: Reaction to distraction
- Step 10: Supervised separation
